Future

Having the opportunity to complete an internship at a technical university substantially contributed to my development as a designer. I slowly begin to have a clear path of my intentions for my future career, which professionally involve helping people feel comfortable with the enhancement of new transformative technologies and societal advancements.

In order to accomplish this, I my first squad option is the New Futures, where I will hopefully plan to pursue my FBP. I consider this squad to align very closely to my vision, in terms of both content and structure. The New Futures Squad, centered in a futuristic scenario, envisions designs and technologies around 15 years from now. My plan within this squad has several smart goals, which, with coaching help, I believe I will achieve.

To begin with, I plan to focus on creating a product where I can include my learnt mechanical knowledge along with programming, gathering sensor data to enhance design and present a homely connected solution for consumerist use. This will strengthen my M,D&C and T&R. To do this I will iterate via exploring, making and testing. I want my FBP to be full of small prototypes which will add to a high-quality standard prototype by demo day in June 2026. Of course, I intend to make the most out of the squad professionals to seek help and guidance all along my process. I also plan on improving my coach communication as I this became a weak spot during my internship experience.

Continuing with this, as C&A is a large part of my vision, I plan on developing my designer’s style to my maximum potential, learning about myself and properly defining my mark as a designer. As for materials, I want to make both low-fidelity and high fidelity prototypes, working with 3D prototyping, but also cardboard, laser-cutting and new materials I will discover.

lastly, I want my design fit with the intended user’s needs they will have in the future. This could be challenging, but addressing, investigating and tackling a problem statement in an individual manner is something I aim to do. I will conduct extensive background research and apply learnt business models and techniques to find points of innovation, developing on B&E with U&S.

 As for soft skills, I want to grow personally, keep on maturing and improving my organization & planning, and improving my acceptance on other perspectives and feedbacks, where new pairs of eyes will freshen up my concept and guide me to a successful FBP.
